St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church at 134 E. Bishop ST, Bellefonte, PA 16823-1975 US - Mass Stipends

Effective July 1, 2000, Bishop Joseph has accepted the Presbyteral Council's recommendation to raise the donation for a Mass when requesting an Intention from $5.00 to $10.00. There has not been an increase in these donations (called "Stipends") since 1966, and the donation of $10 is already used by many other dioceses. 1. Mass Intentions requested for specific dates are accepted on a first come, first serve basis. 2. Multiple Mass requests for one individual are said on a monthly basis, such as those accepted at the time of a funeral. 3. Masses accompanied by a stipend will be published and honored before those without a stipend. [In this vein, Masses with the proper diocesan recommended stipend will be honored and published before those with a lesser stipend.] 4. Masses already accepted prior to July 1, 2000 will be honored in the order they were received, even before Masses with a higher stipend. 5. Mass Requests for unspecified dates are honored as an available free date comes along in the order they were received, allowing for the monthly spacing for individuals. [Those received before June 1, 2000 will be honored in the order they were received; those received after July 1, 2000, will then be honored in the order theyare received.
